Table of Contents
The next best CPU for gaming, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D, has been officially announced after plenty of speculation and a short teaser from Team Red. Now that we can see that the new gaming-focused chip offers excellent performance (as per AMD’s benchmarks), our next question is: where can you buy one?
Launch day (November 7th) has finally arrived, so we’ve put together all the best retailers stocking or expected to stock the new processor, covering the US, UK, and Canada. Pricing has already been revealed for the US and we’ll be keeping an eye on any listings online to keep this page as up-to-date as possible.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D – Canada retailers
Canadian buyers should be able to find the 9800X3D from retailers similar to those in the US.
How much will you pay for the 9800X3D?
With the official announcement rolling through, we can see that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will cost $479 USD at launch (recommended). This is actually $30 more expensive than both the 7800X3D and 5800X3D during their respective launches. However, with 7800X3D stock levels suffering lately and very little in the way of discounts, the new 9000 series chip could be a solid value pick regardless.
Furthermore, the 5800X3D has been discontinued in favor of the newer, cheaper 5700X3D. We’ve also witnessed the entire Ryzen 9000 CPU lineup getting a price drop, just as the first X3D chip was unveiled. The exact pricing of the 9800X3D in other regions such as Canada and the UK remains to be seen, but will soon be apparent when retailers begin to list it.
Is there more to come from 9000X3D?
So far, the 9800X3D is the only 9000 series processor featuring 3D V-Cache that AMD has officially announced. Recent rumors point towards the high-end Ryzen 9 models up next, though they are currently speculated for “early next year” – possibly during CES 2025 which takes place between January 7th and 10th. So, while there is no official word on the 9950X3D or 9900X3D, these chips are supposedly next in line; both will offer a successor to the 7000 series equivalents.
