After some leaks came out about the rerelease of the 5800X3D, AMD has now confirmed that the AM4 10th Anniversary Edition version of the 5800X3D is real during its Computex 2026 conference. Confirming the fact that it is bringing one of the best CPUs of the platform back from retirement.

Celebrating the success of the AM4 platform and the great hardware and longevity it brought, the 5800X3D was a staple of it. Bringing about the introduction of the X3D stacked cache on processors boosted their performance in gaming and made them the go-to choice. So if you missed out on the initial run, now is another chance to pick one up and grab an upgrade for the older hardware and not have to splash for AM5 and DDR5.

Anniversary Edition 5800X3D release date

The rerelease of the 5800X3D is scheduled for June 25th, just later this month. Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the AM4 platform, which came late in 2016 with some initial processors, but then with more consumer-oriented CPUs in 2017 with the Ryzen 1000 series.

The 5800X3D didn’t come till much later in the platform, with the last generation, the 5000 series. Even further along than that still is the 5800X3D release that came out in April 2022. So now it gets a revival upcoming.

Anniversary Edition 5800X3D price

The pricing of the CPU has been changed, too, from the initial release MSRP. Now AMD has given a SEP (suggested retail price) of $349 for it. That is $100 less than the original price of the processor, and so provides an even greater saving on the upgrade and a decent choice for the platform, even if it is a bit outdated.

Anniversary Edition 5800X3D specs and performance

The specs of the 5800X3D are going to remain the same, and we’d expect the performance to stay the same. The only difference being that now the processor will be bundled with a Carbide Ice Pad, used as a thermal interface to provide long-lasting thermal performance over time.

As a reminder, the specs of the processor are 8 cores, 16 threads, a 4.5 GHz boost clock, 100MB of cache, and a 105 W TDP. In our review of the CPU, it resulted in hundreds of fps in gaming, but not so good for other non-gaming scenarios. That’s something only the 9000 series or so came to fix.
