Both AMD and Nvidia’s day one keynotes for CES 2026 were crammed full of AI-focused announcements, but there was a new hardware announcement for consumers to celebrate at the Consumer Electronics Show – the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. This processor, which is essentially a juiced-up version of the widely popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D, has been confirmed for Q1 2026 by AMD. However, now we have a much more specific date thanks to a large French retailer.
Two listings have appeared at LDLC, covering both retail (boxed) and tray (OEM) options. Pricing details have yet to be made official, either by AMD or retailers, though leaks last month pointed towards a price hike to bring the ’50’ model over the $500 mark in the US. For reference, the 9800X3D launched for $479 and still retails for close to MSRP.
Ryzen 7 9850X3D listed for January 29
At the time of writing, the LDLC listings are still publicly viewable. We tend to see early listings like this get scrubbed from the web once they’ve been spotted. In any case, LDLC points towards a very specific release date and time – January 29 at 3 PM (presumably local time). This would translate to 6 AM PST / 9 AM EST in the United States, which lines up with the release time of many PC hardware launches we’ve seen in the past, including CPUs and GPUs.

Leaked 9850X3D benchmarks from last month already gave us an idea of what to expect from the new X3D chip. Following the big announcement, we’ve learned that the 9850X3D furthers AMD’s lead in gaming scenarios, squeezing out a few extra percent of performance, while being up to 35% faster than Intel’s current flagship Core Ultra 9 285K.
