Intel might be gearing up for another Battlemage GPU, amid Nvidia’s 50 series launch

Table of Contents
We’re now entering the next generation of graphics cards, with the RTX 50 series set to lead the pack in popularity – at least according to a recent poll. Nvidia wasn’t the first to launch a new series, however. In December last year, Intel launched its new Battlemage GPUs, first releasing the Arc B580, and then the Arc B570.
These two budget-focused cards won’t be able to rival Nvidia’s 5090 or 5080, but new IDs spotted online lead us to believe that Intel is gearing up to add more cards or configurations to its ‘B-series’ line-up.

Three new Battlemage IDs spotted online
Back when Battlemage was announced, some fans were disappointed to hear there was no true follow-up to its last-gen flagship, the Intel Arc A770. This card offered decent 1440p performance, though it excelled the most in 1080p as per our in-house testing. We hope to see a natural successor to this 16GB card, and new Battlemage IDs posted by Tomasz Gawroński on X suggest that a new GPU could be on the way. These are sourced from a recent Intel Linux patch.
There isn’t a whole lot to gauge here, but three new IDs suggest that three new configurations are on the way. Whether that equals three new GPUs entirely, we cannot say, and that seems unlikely. Prior reports point towards Intel releasing an ‘Arc Pro’ Battlemage GPU with 24GB of memory. This was referenced in a post on Chinese site WeChat at the end of last year, with the Pro card being designed with creators in mind.
Intel has not officially announced its intention to release any new Battlemage cards yet, so we’ll have to wait and see how this pans out. We think it’s likely that Intel will target the mid-range with its next GPU following the B580 and B570. In any case, competition is hotting up with Nvidia’s release of the 5090 and 5080 tomorrow (January 30th), the 5070 series in February, and then AMD’s new Radeon RX 9070 series cards in March.
