Following Apple’s release of the Vision Pro, its successor’s launch, the Vision Pro 2, could reportedly be closer than expected. Though the 3D spatial computer’s premium price tag has turned consumers away from purchasing it, some fans remain eager to learn more about the next iteration. Especially since it seems the second generation is set to bring more fancy new features.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via Forbes), “Apple Inc. is probably at least 18 months away from launching a second-generation Vision Pro. Based on the early response to the first version, that may be a long time for some people to wait.” Despite the relatively lengthy gap, this alleged timeline makes sense when considering the rollout of upcoming Apple products, like the as-yet unconfirmed iPhone 16 release date. Of course, like all Apple Vision Pro 2 rumors, this has yet to be officially confirmed. So, you’ll need to take all this information with the customary grain of salt.
A murky look into the future
However, TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that it may take even longer before Apple releases the next generation. “The Vision Pro 2 could enter mass production by 1H27 at the latest, suggesting there may be no hardware updates for the Vision Pro in the coming years,” they noted. Kuo added that Apple allegedly canceled its plans to launch a low-cost version of the mixed-reality headset slated for 2025. Without confirmation, however, it remains unclear whether an affordable alternative will be released at some point.
With several tech events fast approaching, though, you may not have to wait long for more details. Because if these rumored release windows are to be believed, Apple may already have something planned in the near future.
