On their Discord server, the developers behind the Winhanced project are seeking additional testers to help test their new feature. Particularly those with a ROG Ally X, Legion Go, and Steam Deck, as they look at integrating Winhanced Autopilot into their app.

The app that looks to bring a SteamOS-style experience to Windows has just recently overhauled its UI, and still, the early access program looks to be adding even more. Currently, they are working on integrating AI into the control of your handheld settings, eliminating the need to manually adjust them.

Instead, it optimizes the in-game settings to provide a Full Autopilot experience to adapt the gaming environment to create a console-like experience on Windows. It can change the configurations such as the TDP, refresh rate, and GPU settings to adjust the load and performance of the game.

More Winhanced testers wanted

A call for more testers has recently come in. As they want more recordings and data to make sure its implementation is top notch, and keep improving Autopilot as part of its performance management system. So, if you have a Windows device, it might be worth giving it a shot to improve your experience. They are also looking for testers on the Steam Deck, for those who are dual-booting Windows on their device.

What Winhanced has to offer

The app works on Windows to cut back on the overhead it creates on performance. Just looking at the Legion Go S reviews, there is, in fact, a performance benefit to using the alternative operating system that’s based on Linux.

Winhanced tries to do the same for a Windows handheld in app form. Showing off your games in one Library, and being able to access settings for anything with one button.

Valve is expanding SteamOS support to more devices, but this is a much simpler solution than reinstalling your operating system. It also comes as a passion project that resolves plenty of problems right now, making it a lot easier to make your Windows handheld or PC experience better.
