Diablo 4 was already popular, as we’ve previously seen it reach the fifth spot in the charts. However, the release of Season 6 and the new expansion have boosted its popularity even further among Steam Deck users. It’s currently ranked above titles like Stardew Valley, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and even Baldur’s Gate 3. The Deck’s portability allows players to dive into the seasonal grind wherever they are, which is especially convenient for those who don’t always have time to sit in front of a PC or console.
Perhaps the most important detail is that since Diablo 4 is Steam Deck Verified, it runs smoothly right out of the box. A user on Reddit also confirmed that the expansion runs fine on the Deck.
However, it’s important to remember that once players finish exploring the new content, the game’s ranking will likely drop. This is a common trend with most titles, as excitement tends to fade a few weeks after the release of a new season or expansion. While the initial surge in popularity seems great and all, Blizzard will be able to maintain this only by releasing constant updates for Diablo 4.
