For a while now, there have been speculations about Half-Life 3 being in the works. In fact, earlier this week, there were rumors that Valve was involved in the making of the next Half-Life game, as hinted by a voice actress’s resume.
In any case, considering that the Half-Life franchise is quite successful and popular, the excitement surrounding a possible new installment or spinoff is understandable. And while we wait for an official announcement, there are other Half-Life games that fans can check out – some of which are subject to pretty tasty discounts right now.
You can add Half-Life: Alyx to games library with a 66% discount
Whether we will get a Half-Life 3 or not will be confirmed after developers make it official. But at the moment, we have quite a few Half-Life titles that you can play, including the 2020 release Half-Life: Alyx, which currently has a 66% discount on Steam.
Steam users can head over to the store and get Half-Life: Alyx, the immensely popular VR game from the franchise, at just $20.3 instead of the regular $59.99.
The discount on Half-Life: Alyx comes at a time when rumors about Half-Life 3 have been spreading like wildfire. In fact, X (Twitter) user HL_Alyx_NoVR pointed out the convenient timing of the discount.
Voice actor’s resume and data miner’s video point to a possible Half-Life 3
Earlier this week, voice actor Natasha Chandel’s resume sparked a fresh round of speculations about Half-Life 3. At the moment, Chandel’s website shows an “error,” but before the update, it said that the actor had worked on ‘Project White Sands’ with Valve, which is said to be Half-Life 3.
Further, Valve data miner Tyler McVicker also said in a video that the company had been working on a new Half-Life game. McVicker also mentioned that it would likely be a non-VR title, and the development of the game began around the same time as Half-Life: Alyx.
However, there has been no official confirmation about this so far – and these are online rumors, which should be taken with a grain of salt.
