The Intel Arc A770 was released back in October 2022, and since then, its users have often complained about performance issues in games. However, Intel has consistently introduced new driver updates for the GPU, all aimed at improving its performance. Recently, a new review of the card emerged where it was tested in 250 games, which has given us a closer look at its recent gaming performance.
We reviewed the Intel Arc A770 a few months back and found it to be a solid contender on the market, though we didn’t have the time to run it through 250 games. Either way, it has certainly been helped with drivers – an ongoing process for Intel – and it should only get better.
Intel Arc A770 tested in 250 games
The review comes directly from Hardware Unboxed, which decided to test the Intel Arc A770 with 16 GB VRAM in 250 games to see where it currently stands. Normally, we see graphics cards being tested in around 10 games (that’s the kind of thing we do in our testing lab), but Hardware Unboxed took a different approach and decided to go all in. Thanks to their efforts, we now have a much clearer picture of whether the Intel Arc A770 is worth getting for gaming.

According to the review, 233 out of 250 games were playable. Of those, 218 worked without any issues, while 12 had performance problems or were not playable. However, four games did not work at all, including Left 4 Dead 2, Saints Row 2, SimCity 4, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. On the other hand, titles like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Apex Legends worked flawlessly, with the card maintaining FPS above 60 in all three games.
Interestingly, almost every playable game ran on max, ultra, or high settings, with some using upscaling to boost FPS. Hardware Unboxed also noted that the games that didn’t work were forcing the system to use integrated graphics instead of the dedicated GPU. This suggests that the issue lies not with the Intel Arc A770 itself, but rather with a bug preventing the games from recognizing the GPU.
In any case, it’s great to see that the Intel Arc A770 is showing big improvements in gaming. We can expect to see even more improvements in the next few months after Intel releases new driver updates, so it gets yet another pass mark from us.
