Newly shared PC hardware sales reports from TechEpiphany show a turnaround in Intel CPU sales, and even a slight drop-off for AMD’s massively popular Ryzen chips. The latest report focuses on Amazon US CPU sales for July versus August 2026, and while overall demand barely changed, Intel managed to make a noticeable comeback versus its key rival.

According to the report, Amazon US sold around 37,050 CPUs in July, compared to 36,550 units in August. That’s a decline of only 1.3%. However, revenue actually increased by 5.9%, climbing from $10.76 million to $11.40 million. The bigger change was in how those sales were divided between AMD and Intel.

AMD remained comfortably ahead, but its sales dropped from 31,950 units in July to 28,750 in August, representing a 10% decline. As a result, AMD’s share fell from 86.2% to 78.7%.

Intel went in the opposite direction. Its sales jumped from 5,100 to 7,800 units, an increase of around 53%. This pushed Intel’s share of Amazon US CPU sales from just 13.8% in July to 21.3% in August. It seems to have been a great couple of months for Team Blue, especially after more than doubling its GPU market share on Amazon, too, while graphics card prices remain inflated.

Arrow Lake appears to be the main reason behind Intel’s improved performance. Sales of these processors more than doubled, increasing from 1,750 units in July to 4,050 in August. Their overall share also climbed from 4.7% to 11.1%. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus saw one of the biggest increases, jumping from 500 units to 2,000, which works out to a 300% increase (or four times as much, depending on how you look at it). The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus also performed well, rising from 400 to 1,000 units.

AMD, meanwhile, saw declines across both of its major platforms. AM5’s share dropped from 50.9% to 46.6%, while the older AM4 platform went from 35.4% to 32%.

However, AMD still has a major advantage when it comes to its X3D processors. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D remained the best-selling individual CPU on Amazon US, holding steady at around 5,000 units in both months. Its share actually increased slightly from 13.5% to 13.7%.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D also doubled its sales from 1,000 to 2,000 units. On the other hand, the Ryzen 5 5500 dropped 21% to 4,000 units, while the older Ryzen 7 7800X3D fell from 3,000 to 2,000 units.
