Intel doubles its GPU market share on Amazon while Nvidia and AMD drop off with inflated prices

New sales stats reveal a shift in discrete graphics card sales on Amazon in the United States. Intel has made up some ground with its more budget-friendly Arc GPUs, selling 72% more units in August than in July and more than doubling its overall market share. The current Battlemage series is led by the Arc B580, with the Arc B570 providing an even cheaper alternative.
On the flip side, both AMD and Nvidia GPU sales have dropped, though the latter is the worst affected. Even so, Nvidia will continue to enjoy success through its more significant OEM volume (in other words, you’ll still find many more prebuilt gaming PCs shipping with an RTX graphics card inside). Likewise, Nvidia’s overall GPU unit sales are still top of the pile.
Recent GPU sales stats for Amazon US
Overall, Nvidia is still on top with just over 10,000 sales, but there has been a noticeable shift in unit sales and market shares over the past couple of months. Intel made a significant leap with over 2,000 sales, while AMD dropped below 9,000.

The statistics, shared by TechEpiphany, show a downward trend for standalone Nvidia GPUs as prices continue to suffer from memory shortages. Just recently, we highlighted that the flagship RTX 5090 now costs more than $6,500, and the more entry-level cards have also suffered. The stats show a major drop in sales across Nvidia’s mainstream Blackwell cards:
- RTX 5060: 2,450 → 600 (-76%)
- RTX 5060 Ti: 2,650 → 1,100 (-58%)
- RTX 5070 Ti: 1,900 → 1,150 (-39%)
Likewise, AMD’s latest RX 9000 series GPUs have also faced inflated prices as of late, though the flagship RX 9070 XT has still maintained its popularity with 4,050 units sold (versus 4,000 in July); a quick search will show that the card retails for around $750, while the rival RTX 5070 Ti is over $1,200, and the cheapest RTX 5070 we could find is a renewed ASUS Prime model for $799.99.
