Intel's Performance-Core only “Raptor Lake” processors (14th gen in this case), which are supposed to be used in embedded systems, appear to be getting sold online in China. These CPUs are not meant for normal consumers and are usually used in specialized machines that need reliable, consistent performance. However, they are now being sold by third-party sellers online.

These CPUs are a part of the 14th-gen lineup. The key feature of the chips is that they are P-Core only processors. Unlike the mainstream desktop versions, these models don’t include the Efficiency cores (E-Cores), which are typically responsible for handling light tasks. The embedded versions are designed for specific uses where power efficiency may not be a priority.

AMD launches latest Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D CPUs!

AMD's highly anticipated Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D chips have finally arrived! Below, we will be listing all the latest listings from the web's biggest retailers.

These processors are meant to be used in embedded systems, like industrial computers, and not in gaming PCs or regular desktop computers. However, even though Intel does not sell these CPUs to regular consumers, they have started appearing online at third-party selling sites such as Goofish in China.

Here’s a closer look at the three models, along with the prices they are being sold at:

  • Core i9-14901KE: The flagship chip in this lineup, sold online for $420, reportedly boasts 8 P-Cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 3.8 GHz, boosting up to 5.8 GHz.
  • Core i7-14701E: Priced at $280, this model features 8 P-Cores and 16 threads with a clock speed of up to 5.4 GHz.
  • Core i5-14401E: The most affordable of the bunch, at $154, comes with 6 P-Cores and 12 threads, capable of operating at a speed of up to 4.7 GHz.

Although these processors are meant for embedded systems, they can be easily removed from an LGA 1700 motherboard and installed in a new one. This is why individual sellers are currently offering them for sale separately. At the moment, the listings seem to be available only in China, so it will be interesting to see if they appear in other countries.

An interesting point to note is that these processors are being listed at prices lower than Intel's recommended rates. For example, the Core i9-14901KE is recommended at $557, while the Core i7-14701E and i5-14401E are supposed to be priced at $392 and $228, respectively. So, it's surprising to see them being sold for much less.
