Steam has been the most popular platform for PC gaming for over a decade and continues to offer a large library of games. Part of that is a large section of titles for free, but some only appear for a limited time. Right now, Golden Light, an indie survival-horror FPS is free to keep if you claim it soon. At the time of writing, it’s just a matter of hours before this discount ends, so act quick.

This is a fantastic free pickup for Steam Deck users, as the game is rated as ‘Playable’ on the popular Valve handheld. Just below, the countdown timer tells you just how long you have to claim this game; if you don’t see a timer, that means your time is up.

Golden Light is free to keep on Steam until February 24

Golden Light on Steam

Labeled “A great horror roguelike” and the “Indie horror game of the year” by PC Gamer and DreadXP respectively, Golden Light is a single-player experience with procedural levels and roguelike mechanics. It’s described by its developer, Mr. Pink, as a “dark comedy horror game with roguelike elements and an eerie atmosphere” and it enjoys a ‘Very Positive‘ rating on Steam across all reviews.

We think it’s well worth picking up for a free while you can. The lightweight system requirements mean it should have no problems running on the Steam Deck, while only asking for 2GB of disk space.
