Just a few months to wait if everything goes to plan, apparently

It’s obvious to say that GTA 6 is one of the most (if not the most) highly anticipated games of the decade, and the fact that it has been delayed a couple of times only makes the wait more excruciating. Even more so for PC gamers, since we don’t yet know when it will be available. The console launch date has been penciled in for November 19, 2026, but PC remains unknown.

However, there’s some good news for PC players right now, as a leak suggests GTA 6 could be coming to PC in early 2027 – with Rockstar aiming for a February release, according to former employees. That’s just three months after the console launch, which would be a massive change from the 17-month gap we had to wait for GTA 5 to be ported to PC.

GTA 6 might be available on PC as soon as February 2027

As always with these kinds of leaks, you’ll have to take this information with a pinch of salt. According to a user by the name of DetectiveSeeds, three former Rockstar employees he got in touch with said the company was “aiming to release” the PC version of GTA 6 in February 2027. The leaker says they reached out to over 90 people, with just 3 of them providing an answer. Of course, this deadline could easily shift, much like the release date has already – twice.

It’s commonly suggested that the PC version wouldn’t be arriving until at least a year after the console release, especially given what we saw with GTA 5. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have been officially confirmed, but the PC version hasn’t even been mentioned, so everything points towards a staggered release. So at this point, an extra three months seems like nothing.

Rockstar Games’ most recent GTA VI trailer listed May 26 as the release date, before the final November 19 announcement

Looking at another Rockstar title, there was around a one-year gap between the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on console and PC, so we suppose you could say that Rockstar did cut down the gap in its most recent major release (compared to GTA 5). It did, admittedly, take 14 years for the original RDR to make its way onto PC, though that’s certainly an outlier.
