The release of Intel 15th gen CPUs is just around the corner, and the performance leaks of the flagship 285K look promising for Team Blue. It managed to outperform the Ryzen 9 9950X and the 14900KF, AMD’s and Intel’s current market flagships respectively. Moreover, Even the mid-range Core Ultra 5 228V managed to beat the previous generation Core Ultra 9 185H.

On top of that, we’ve now got a look at what the “final specs” of the Core Ultra 9 285K could be, but what we didn’t see was the upgraded packaging of these processors, until now. And it looks like Intel is going for dark mode.

What do the boxes of Intel’s next-gen CPUs look like?

A recent post by u/CoffeeBlowout on the r/Intel subreddit showcased what could potentially be the box for the Core Ultra 9 285K. The box has a similar design to the 14900K, with the side being transparent, showing the container holding the chip. The color is on the darker side with blue accents, which looks pretty nice in our opinion, a welcome switch-up. We also see the new branding on the package with the iconic “i” prefix removed, as claimed by rumors a couple of months back.

That said, another post on X by @momomo_us also showcased the same box design, but along with it were boxes for the Core Ultra 7 and 5 processors. This leads us to believe that these boxes could be the final version, and honestly, they are a breath of fresh air from the bright blue we’ve seen for years.

However, we always recommend taking leaked information with a pinch of salt until the company releases official information.
