Entering the market over a year ago now, the Lenovo Legion Go offers one of the more unique handheld experiences thanks to a higher resolution and larger screen than rivals such as the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. And while companies like Valve are waiting for a generational leap before committing to a sequel, there are already plenty of rumors of Lenovo releasing an updated version of the Go.

In fact, three new handhelds were registered online back in October and further leaks are emerging into what they could be. So far, it is expected that Lenovo will be releasing a ‘Legion Go Lite’ – though this is now more likely to be known as the Legion Go S. Most recently, a BIOS update for Windows 11 on Lenovo’s website leaked the existence of the ‘S’ handheld.

Although it has since been removed from the Lenovo website, the ‘Lenovo Legion Go S 8ARP1’ was referenced in a BIOS update for Windows 11 and it seems like it has been in development for a few months. VideoCardz spotted this firmware leak and did some further digging to figure out what kind of hardware the device could include. As the ‘lite’ version, the Go S will feature cut-down specs, presumably making it cheaper.

The device is expected to have 8 CPU cores and run on Zen3+ architecture. According to the leak, the firmware mentions AMD Rembrandt GPU architecture. This means the expected Ryzen Z2G APU could feature RDNA 2.0 with the AMD Radeon 680M iGPU – less powerful than the existing Legion Go’s Radeon 780M in the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor.

As we said before, three new models are actually expected to be coming in the future, and the 8ARP1 should be the cheapest. VideoCardz lists the complete list of models as below, which matches up with previous leaks for the Z2 line-up.

The AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme is currently slated for early 2025, so there’s a decent chance AMD will be revealing its new line-up of Z-series mobile processors at CES in January. So far, this is expected to be the Z2, Z2G, and Z2 Extreme.
