Lenovo Legion Go 2 price rumor suggests it could be up to $200 more expensive than the ROG Xbox Ally X

IFA Berlin is just around the corner and is likely the event where Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 will be revealed. That’s based on a leaked promo that surfaced online a few days ago, showing off some marketing material and specs details for the upcoming handheld. Much of the design closely matches the prototype Lenovo originally presented at CES 2025.
Despite all the leaks, little has been said on the price – until now. A new price rumor suggests the Legion Go 2 will be available for €999 in Europe, which is notably higher than prior ROG Xbox Ally price leaks when comparing the Z2 Extreme models. The rumor also suggests as much as $1,099 for it in the U.S. As always, take this information with a pinch of salt.
Legion Go 2 might be $150-$200 more expensive than the ROG Xbox Ally X
This news comes from Notebookcheck, which claims a reader (who wishes to remain anonymous) got in touch to discuss price leaks. The source claims that the Legion Go 2 will be available in Europe in September and in North America in November, with a €999 MSRP in Europe and between $1,049 and $1,099 in the U.S, stressing that the latter has yet to be settled on.

A previous price leak from an official partner places the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X at €599 and €899, respectively, for the Z2 A and Z2 Extreme models. The Legion Go 2 could also launch two variants; this is yet to be confirmed, but based on the high €999 price tag, the leaker is likely talking about the Z2 Extreme version.
Official pricing for the new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds was never revealed at Gamescom, where they were open for the public to test out. Microsoft and ASUS essentially blamed this on U.S. tariffs, or the “challenging economic environment,” as they put it. However, just ahead of the event, the ROG Xbox Ally X was briefly spotted on Best Buy for $899.99 USD, and based on this, the Legion Go 2 could end up around up to $200 more expensive than its direct Z2 Extreme rival.
Legion Go and MSI Claw models have already been confirmed to benefit from the Xbox upgrades introduced by the new Xbox-branded Ally handhelds, such as the Xbox full screen experience, which delivers a more Steam Deck-like approach to the operating system. A $200 price difference might prove to be a hurdle if Lenovo wants to compete to ASUS/Xbox, but the new Go 2 will feature some unique selling points, such as its detachable controllers, larger 8.8″ screen, and expected higher resolution.
