New GeForce RTX 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z dazzles

The star of the show at this year’s showcase has to be the new MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z, a GPU that has already broken over 17 overclocking records. As we entered MSI’s booth, the first thing that caught our eye was this goliath card, proudly on display for all to see.

We haven’t seen much from the LIGHTNING Z series in recent years (7 years according to MSI), so it was good to see MSI delivering an incredibly strong product for its return to the spotlight. MSI are calling the 5090 LIGHTNING Z the most technically advanced flagship graphics card in their history – and it’s easy to see why.

With the world’s first full 8-inch display panel, the LIGHTNING Z is incredibly striking on first impressions. Carbon fibre elements have been added for a refined look, pairing nicely with the metallic coating and flashy display. A truly special-looking GPU.

Each of the limited-edition graphics cards will also be labelled with a numbered badge to highlight the rarity of the product.

Looks aside, the LIGHTNING Z is also the most powerful card in the brand’s arsenal, mainly thanks to the newly-designed liquid-cooled thermal system. This is primarily made up of a full-cover cold plate that spans the GPU, VRAM, and MOSFETs. A hybrid-fin radiator with new alternating sections has also been added to increase the efficiency of hot and cold air exchange.

Overall, a stunning centre piece that caught the attention of everyone in the booth.

Latest MSI 341CQP QD-OLED X36 monitor

MSI had a bunch of new monitors on display throughout its large booth at this year’s tradeshow, but the new QD-OLED X36 monitor is what caught our attention the most. This stunning 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor features the latest 5th-gen QD-OLED panel technology, equipped with the latest Stripe sub-pixel layout.

While not unique to the MSI panel, the new Strip sub-pixel layout helps deliver sharp, vibrant, color-fringing-free visuals at the monitor’s maximum 360Hz refresh rate. The punchy colors of the monitor pair perfectly with it’s near-instantaneous response time for a truly magnificent gaming experience.

Its sleek design is characterized by its incredibly slender profile, perfect for both office and gaming environments. The new display also offers MSI’s exclusive HDR Curve Customization feature for a more pronounced HDR experience. Last year’s AI Care Sensor can also be found in this year’s model, now powered by an NPU-based algorithm that detects user presence in real time.

MEG MAESTRO 900R finally set to go live

The MEG MAERSTRO 900R certainly caught our eye when we saw it officially unveiled at last year’s Computex, and it was just as impressive this time around. The monstrous PC case is a real goliath when compared to other cases at this year’s tradeshow, delivering stunning panoramic visuals of your internal hardware.

While aesthetics are certainly the star of this product, let’s not take anything away from the internal design of this case. Designed with extremely custom water-cooling support and dual-GPU configurations, this case really is for the enthusiast PC builder. Three glass panels allow for a full panoramic build that leaves most other cases in its wake.

Most impressive is the new EZ rotatable motherboard tray that allows builders to not only tune and customize their systems at ease, but also gives them the option of removing the entire tray for more intricate tweaks to the design.

The MEG MAESTRO 900R is set to officially launch this year, with a price tag likely to be north of $600 in the US.

MEG X870E UNIFY-X MAX motherboard is an overclocker’s dream

Overclocking was clearly the main agenda at this year’s CES for MSI, as they also launched the new MSI X870E UNIFY-X MAX, a board custom-designed for extreme overclocking.

The new motherboard combines the latest MSI OC engine alongside a 2-DIMM layout for truly epic performance. Like other UNIFY-X Series products, the latest X870E also comes with its own tuning controller that allows users to effortlessly tweak BIOS settings at the flick of a switch. Whether you’re looking to clear the CMOS, enter a fail-safe mode, restore saved settings or adjust OC parameters, you’ll be able to do this all through the controller.

The UNIFY-X MAX isn’t just geared towards performance either; it also looks great, too. The UNITY-X branding can be found slap-bang on top of the motherboard, alongside stylish black-on-silver heatsinks throughout.

New Pro Max monitor is both sleek and powerful

MSI’s Pro Max section took up a fairly large corner of the brand’s booth, and it was clear why. The easy-on-the-eye, productivity-first range is designed specifically for individuals who want both sleek aesthetics alongside visually accurate colors.

The star here was the PRO MAX 271UPXW12G, a productivity monitor with all the bells and whistles. It features the latest PureBlack QD-OLED panel with AGLR surface treatment, perfect for stunning colors and deep blacks without compromise from ambient light.

The monitor works flawlessly with both MacBook devices (allowing users to tweak brightness and volume controls via the onboard shortcut keys) and Windows laptops. MSI’s latest range of OLED laptops also pairs perfectly with the PRO Max series of monitors, producing consistent color performance across both devices.

A built-in KVM switch allows users to use one set of peripherals with up to 3 different devices, perfect for any productivity user looking to jump from one system to another.

Prebuilt desktops offer a variety of aesthetics

A number of prebuilt desktop PCs were also on offer this year, including the brand’s impressive MEG VISION X AI. This impressive-looking PC case features the brand’s AI HMI interface, a touchscreen panel that gives real-time interaction and controls.

Alongside this, the brand also showcased the VISION RS AI desktops, featuring up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processors and Nvidia’s latest 5090 GPU. The fishtank design allows users to show off their PC components beautifully – perfectly highlighted by the all-white PC build MSI had on display.

MSI launches slew of new high-response peripherals

MSI also continued its venture into the peripheral space, showing off a number of keyboards, mice, and a headset. The MSI Strike 700 HE 8K Wireless keyboard was the brand’s latest take on a compact layout board, delivering high-end performance thanks to Hall-effect switches. The robust design felt sturdy thanks to premium materials throughout, finished nicely with RGB lighting for a vibrant final look.

Alongside this was the latest Versa 300 and 500 8K wireless gaming mice. These lightweight mice have also been designed with ultra-fast response in mind, featuring 26,000-30,000 DPI and an 8,000Hz polling rate. Both mice also offer up to 100 hours of use time on full charge, and both weigh in at around 66-68g respectively.

New Roamii BE Pro Mesh system unveiled

Lastly, we have the brand’s latest take on the WiFi 7 Mesh system, the Roamii BE Pro. The stylish-looking WiFi 7 system features better room-to-room signal penetration, alongside 200+ devices. The devices offer 230Hz wider channels and 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz connections too.

Final thoughts

Overall, MSI’s CES showcase delivered a clear message: performance, design, and innovation remain firmly at the core of the brand’s DNA. From the record-breaking RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z and cutting-edge QD-OLED monitors to enthusiast-grade motherboards, premium cases, and high-response peripherals, MSI demonstrated a product stack that caters to gamers, creators, and power users alike.

The inclusion of refined productivity displays, powerful prebuilt systems, and next-generation WiFi 7 networking further highlights MSI’s ambition to offer a complete ecosystem rather than standalone components. Whether you’re chasing extreme overclocking performance, immersive visuals, or a sleek productivity setup, MSI’s latest lineup shows the brand is well prepared for the year ahead.
