However, now an Indonesian overclocker shared that he had overclocked the entry-level Ryzen 5 9600X, one of the CPUs that was launched today, to almost 7GHz. As can be seen, this number has surpassed what the Ryzen 9 9950X could achieve in the demo.
Alva Jonathan, aka Lucky Noob, is the Indonesian overclocker who managed to clock the new Zen 5 CPU to 6999.36 MHz, which is almost 7GHz. The overclocker used an MSI MEG X670E ACE motherboard, LN2 cooling, and a pair of 32 GB DDR5 memory.
Further, as per some of the new entries on the HWBOT website, the CPU has broken quite a few records. It now grabs the top spot for Cinebench 2024 multi-core performance as well as Safedisk’s HWBOT X265 1080p and 4K benchmarks
Considering that an entry-level CPU can reach up to 7GHz clock speeds, it will be exciting to see what the high-end chips from the Ryzen 9000 series can do.
