Nintendo Switch 2 already has custom Joy-Con colors to make them look more like the original

The Nintendo Switch 2 is launching on June 5, and there's a lot to look forward to with this next-gen upgrade. From digital game sharing to a higher resolution and refresh rate, the sequel brings some major improvements, but one of the most exciting changes is the new set of Joy-Cons, officially called the Joy-Con 2. Apart from the technical improvements like magnetic attachments, larger buttons, and even mouse functionality, the Joy-Con 2 also brings customization like never before.
That's right, the Switch 2's Joy-Con 2 controllers feature removable panels that can be swapped out with custom designs to suit your style and preferences. In fact, one of the first available designs lets you give your Switch 2 the classic look of the original Switch, to a certain extent.
Sadly, the ones under the stick may not be easy to replace
Over on AliExpress, you'll find these “decorative strips” for the Switch 2 priced around $4 to $6 for both the left and right panels. In total, we came across four different listings offering them, but none of them had any reviews. That said, the official Joy-Con 2 controllers come with black panels, but they still feature the original Switch color theme under the joysticks. So if you're looking to try and complete the classic look, these panels should do the trick quite well.
That said, as many users have pointed out, while we might see customizable panels, it’s not likely that the ones under the joysticks will be replaceable. This could be a dealbreaker for some, as those fixed panels might clash with the color theme you’re going for. If you're looking to get a Switch 2 as soon as possible, we recommend checking out our Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order page ahead of the release date on June 5th.
