PC tech enthusiasts and analysts are preparing for the official announcement of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. However, the news is not looking good for consumers who were hoping to finally grab an affordable GPU.
The 60-suffix cards from Nvidia have traditionally been one of the most popular choices for PC gaming fans. These cards tend to be more reasonably priced compared to the higher-end models, but still offer decent performance and access to the latest features.

RTX 5060 Ti will reportedly cost just as much as the 4060 Ti
The launch of Nvidia's RTX 50 series of graphics cards has been plagued by quality assurance issues and problems with supply, which has driven prices up far above MSRP. Even mainstream retailers have jacked up prices as demand has far outweighed supply. Unfortunately, it seems that Nvidia is not changing its strategy when it comes to the launch of the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti.
According to Board Channels, as reported by VideoCardz, Nvidia is planning on keeping the same pricing structure as the last generation. The RTX 4060 Ti has an MSRP of $399 at launch for the 8GB version, with the 16GB model costing $499. With the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti still currently on sale, if Nvidia keeps the same prices for the new models, then the RTX 4060 models could be phased out or see a price drop.
Considering both the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti dropped their MSRPs by $50 compared to the previous-gen 4070 series cards, some may have hoped that Nvidia would do the same for the 5060 family.
According to current speculation, Nvidia is expected to announce three cards on April 15, with a full launch the following day. This will include the RTX 5060 Ti in 8GB and 16GB versions, along with the RTX 5060 non-Ti. With little sign that Nvidia has solved its supply issues, these models are likely to sell out quickly.
Board Channels is a forum used by Nvidia board partners, so information obtained from there has a history of being accurate. However, until Nvidia makes an official announcement, this remains a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
