Nvidia is selling RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 cards at MSRP, but it hasn’t made it easy

It has been a busy week for the tech industry, particularly for Nvidia. The GDC (Game Developers Conference) and Nvidia’s GTC (GPU Technology Conference) have been taking place since Monday, and now they have reached their final day (March 21st). The events have been full of interesting tech reveals, with Nvidia putting much of its focus on new AI improvements and workstation hardware, launching 12 new Blackwell GPUs for its RTX Pro series.
However, if you’re a PC gamer, that probably isn’t of much interest to you. What might be though, is bagging one of Nvidia’s latest RTX 50 series graphics cards. These have been in short supply since launch, which has seen prices surge. Getting one of these cards for their advertised MSRPs seems impossible, but Nvidia has a couple of options at the moment.

Nvidia is selling RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 at MSRP at GTC 2025
For these top two 50 series models, Nvidia has rolled out its Priority Access program to ship Founders Edition cards at MSRP ($1,999 and $999 for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, respectively). People are finally starting to receive these with delays, but if you’re not eligible for this program and/or outside of the United States, you’re out of luck.
This US-focused theme continues with Nvidia’s next method of selling flagship cards for what now seems like a bargain at their recommended prices. If you’re in the market for one of these cards and happen to be at GTC 2025 taking place in San Jose, CA, then get yourself down to Nvidia’s Gear Store. The food truck turned merch stand is where you can order your new graphics card according to a post from Nvidia yesterday.
March 21st is the last day to get one of these GPUs, and they are only available in limited quality. After purchasing your new RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 from the truck in GTC Park, you’ll have to pick it up later in the day at the San Jose Convention Center’s South Hall.

Aside from the Priority Access program for “verified GeForce gamers & creators” and these in-person sales at GTC 2025, getting one of the graphics cards at a decent price is a struggle. We have already observed that 50 series GPU stock remains poor value for money despite restocks on retailers such as Amazon.
