Nvidia has rolled out a new driver in time for the launch of the RTX 5060 Ti. This one claims to finally address the ‘black screen’ issues plaguing Nvidia users since the RTX 50 series was launched.
Previously, Nvidia enjoyed a reputation for providing solid, reliable drivers compared to those from rival AMD. This reputation started to slip away with the launch of the RTX 50 series, and many users reported a huge number of glitches and crashes. A solution might finally be here with the rollout of driver 576.02.
Game Ready driver version 576.02 is now available for download
The release notes for the new driver mention that it should fix numerous stability issues involving Windows 11 version 24H2, Blue screens when using Multi Frame Generation, and black screen crashes with RTX 50 series graphics cards. Also addressed are ‘general stability issues when playing games with DLSS Frame Generation and Gsync.’
A number of games are specifically mentioned, including crash fixes for Fortnite, Star Wars: Outlaws, and Monster Hunter Wilds. A fix for stuttering in Overwatch 2 and assorted bug fixes for Hellblade 2, Control, The Last of Us Part 1, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection are also identified in the release notes.
These release notes include more bug fixes than a typical driver update. The list of fixes takes up almost two pages of the release notes, when it usually is confined to about half a page, with the rest being dedicated to new features or improvements.

This is not the first attempt that Nvidia has made at fixing the persistent ‘black screen’ issues. Despite two other updates, stability issues became so bad that developers had to advise driver rollbacks. Prominent tech YouTuber GamersNexus also investigated the problem and offered advice on some possible workarounds. Hopefully, this update fixes the problems, but if it didn’t, maybe try some of those GN workarounds.
