✓ RTX 50 series is close to (or below) MSRP in the UK

After writing this article, we spotted a number of RTX 50 series cards, including the RTX 5090, dropping to around MSRP (or even below in some cases) in the UK. This means one of the cheapest 5090 GPUs in Europe is now £2,099.99, which converts to €2,478 at the time of writing.

Finding an RTX 50 series graphics card at MSRP (the price Nvidia advertises it at) has generally been difficult. Limited stock availability around launch time and the usual issues with scalpers drove prices up, even if you were to buy one directly from a partner or trusted retailer. Thankfully, it has been getting better over time, especially in Europe.

Last week, we saw the RTX 5070 drop considerably below MSRP in France, while the most recently released card, the RTX 5060 Ti, dropped below MSRP in the UK, albeit for the less desirable 8GB version. There has been less to shout about for the higher-end GPUs until now. A Reddit user reports that the flagship RTX 5090 is available at MSRP in Finland; in reality, it is just above.

RTX 5090 is close to MSRP in Finland

According to the price comparison tool Geizhals, the cheapest RTX 5090 in Europe is €2,599.00, though it’s clear that this tool doesn’t cover every single region or retailer. The post on Reddit shows MSI’s Ventus 3X OC model retailing for €2,455.90 with a decent amount of cards in stock. This is higher than the €2,339 MSRP in Finland, but of course, this is a partner card, not the Founders Edition, so pricing is expected to vary.

Finland has a high VAT of 25.5%, and this tax is included in the €2,455.90 price tag. Additionally, it is eligible for the DOOM: The Dark Ages bundle, which is valued at €109.99 (presumably the Premium Edition), which helps sweeten the deal. Don’t get us wrong, this is still a lot to pay for a graphics card, but the price getting closer to what it should have been at launch is nice to see.

Looking over to the official MSI store in the US, the Ventus 3X OC model is valued at $2,999.99. Convert this directly into Euros and you get €2,665 (at the time of writing), and that’s before removing the high Finnish VAT. In any case, the currently available price in Finland is cheaper than what you’ll find in the US, comparatively, even with the 25.5% tax.
