Nvidia’s next flagship GPU, the RTX 6090, already has a rumored launch window

We’re still some time away from the RTX 60 series, but rumors are starting to surface online regarding when the next generation of GeForce RTX graphics cards will be in consumers’ hands. Based on the past couple of generations, it makes sense to expect the flagship model, the RTX 6090, to be the first GPU to be released in the 60 series.
A recent report suggests the 60 series could launch in the first quarter of 2027, which means anywhere between January 1 and March 31. This rumor closely follows the news that the RTX 50 Super series has been delayed, and at worst, canceled, alongside reports that Nvidia still hasn’t confirmed the Super specs to its board partners.
When will the RTX 60 series come out?
The early 2027 release date rumor comes from RedGamingTech on YouTube, a well-known hardware leaker. This release window aligns with Nvidia’s habit of launching new hardware every two years, and suggests that the 60 series won’t be as heavily affected by the same delays as the 50 Super cards. The latter are now expected to launch in Q3 2026; they were previously said to arrive in Q1 2026, or even as early as Q4 2025. As always, it makes sense to take any of these dates with a pinch of salt.
“The very earliest we’re going to see this [RTX 60 Series] is CES 2027… at the very least announce it in the first quarter of 2027”
Paul Eccleston / RedGamingTech
For reference, the CES 2027 dates have already been confirmed for January 6-9. The YouTuber claims that the 60 series with Rubin architecture could have been launched a little earlier, but the ongoing memory shortages have pushed it back.
The YouTuber also claims that GPU prices are going to get “pretty crazy,” suggesting that now is one of the best times to upgrade. We’ve already seen RAM price and SSD price increases as a result of supply issues, and this has also reportedly affected the supply of GDDR7 DRAM – the reason behind the 50 Super delays. So, it makes sense to expect GPU prices to rise, too.
