First things first, the RTX 5070 Ti doesn’t hit shelves until February 20th and you’d be lucky to get one shipped to you before this date. However, that hasn’t stopped one user online showing off that theirs has already arrived. Nvidia is gearing up to fully launch the 5070 Ti this week, while the non-Ti variant has been pushed back to early March – the 5th to be specific.

In the run-up to 5070 Ti availability, there have been some leaked benchmarks to give us an idea of how it compares to the last generation of cards, as well as help us understand how much slower it is than the RTX 5080. It seems we’ll have to wait for reviews for full gaming benchmarks, but don’t worry, that’s not too far away. Nvidia has set the MSRP for this GPU to $749, but it’s seemingly increasingly unlikely that you’ll be able to grab one for that price.

Reddit user shows off RTX 5070 Ti, but they overpaid for it

Last week, we reported that the 5070 Ti has been showing up at more retailers, with a list of SKUs appearing at online storefronts. One of the cheapest cards on the roster was the ASUS Prime model, but it’s still not close to MSRP; we saw it going for €1.149,00 at German retailer Caseking. This Reddit thread shows user Qwertz012 with their new 5070 Ti (or with the box at least). While they haven’t disclosed the exact price they paid for it, they confirm that it wasn’t for MSRP, admitting that they “overpaid” for the GPU.

Alongside that, fresh reports from Chinese source ChannelGate suggest that “the distribution volume is very small” and the pricing is set to be higher than expected. The report suggests that demand will be high, with the internet cafe market (which remains relatively popular in China) facing an “insufficient” amount of stock to meet demand.

Additionally, a leaked chat from someone claiming to be in contact with German retailer Alternate suggests that availability of the RTX 5070 Ti is “on the same level” as the RTX 5090 and 5090, both of which sold out instantly and remain difficult to find – especially at a decent price. With all of this in mind, it looks like Nvidia is opening up the door for AMD to capitalize.
