Pre orders open for limited-edition golden PS5 DualSense controller, ahead of 007 First Light launch
Table of Contents
007 First Light is penciled in for a May 27 launch date, with pre-orders already live for the IO Interactive-developed title. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. A Microsoft Store version is also expected. In any case, for PlayStation players, a new PS5 DualSense controller has just been launched, now available to pre-order directly from Sony.
Along with the PS5, the golden 007 Dualsense is also compatible with PC, Mac, and mobile. Pre-orders are available for $84, which is $10 more than you’d pay for the standard colorways such as White, Midnight Black, and Galactic Purple. In the United States, the branded gamepad is also available to purchase from Amazon. In the United Kingdom, Sony prices it at £75.
007 First Light should make good
Fans have responded positively to the custom gamepad’s launch. Like with any of these controllers, it acts as a collector’s item – IO Interactive calls it “unmistakably 007” – probably because the logo is printed front and center on the DualSense’s touchpad.

The game makes the most of Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers on the PS5 controller for a more immersive experience. If you want the same experience on PC, you’ll have to play wirelessly or create your own DualSense-friendly dongle (which we recently discovered is possible with a cheap Raspberry Pi).
As for the game itself, 007 First Light looks to take much inspiration from one of IO Interactive’s most popular franchises, the Hitman series. So expect plenty of stealth gameplay at its core. It feels like it has been a long time coming for a well-received, modern game set within the James Bond universe.
We’ve already had a glimpse of 007 First Light path tracing visuals, courtesy of Nvidia – the game will support DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and path tracing on launch day.
