News of the RTX 3060 being back in production surfaced last month, followed by its appearance at German retailers. And now, the massively popular 12GB graphics card has been re-launched in the United States. MSI’s Ventus 2X OC model has resurfaced on Newegg with a $329.99 price tag – the same price as it launched back in January 2021.

The RTX 3060 at MSRP is in a strange spot alongside its successors. MSI’s discontinued RTX 3060 Ti and 4060 Ventus cards won’t be any cheaper, but you can pick up a current-gen RTX 50 series card without stretching your budget too much further. All models below are two-fan Ventus 2X (two-fan) designs, with the exception of the three-fan overclocked 16GB version.

Graphics cardPrice
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6$329.99
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6$388.00 (refurbished)
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6$421.95 (new) / $379.99 (used)
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7$359.99 / $339.99 with rebate form
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GDDR7$419.99 $379.99
MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7$614.99 $579.99

Is it worth buying the RTX 3060 right now?

It’s difficult to recommend the RTX 3060 when it’s not much more expensive than its RTX 50 series counterparts, even despite offering 4GB more VRAM. The RTX 50 series cards offer better performance and full access to Nvidia’s latest DLSS 4.5 technologies, including Dynamic Multi Frame Gen with up to 6x frame generation. They will also be supported by DLSS 5.

The same MSI Ventus 12GB RTX 3060 is also available on Amazon in the US, but only from a third-party seller at an inflated price tag. Needless to say, we wouldn’t recommend that. If you want an alternative cheap 12GB card, we’d recommend Intel’s Arc B580, which you can currently pick up for $309.99 at Newegg – cheaper than the RTX 3060 and more powerful than a 4060.

Would you buy a bare bones Steam Machine?

Would you buy a variant of the Steam Machine with no RAM and/or no SSD and install them separately to help save on costs?
