RTX 5070 Ti could be available as soon as next week, but rumors warn of “very limited” stock at launch

It’s no surprise that the first two SKUs from Nvidia’s RTX 50 series GPUs didn't win over many fans due to stock issues that aren't expected to improve anytime soon, along with performance that feels undervalued for the price. Instead, many gamers are now looking forward to the next two GPUs from the series, the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti. While detailed specifications and pricing for these GPUs have been revealed, positioning them more as mid-range options, there hasn't been anything concrete regarding a release date.
However, leaks suggest that one of these GPUs could arrive as soon as February 20. This comes from VideoCardz, which previously claimed this release date, and now one of the leading French PC hardware retailers seems to have confirmed it. According to TopAchat's RTX 5070 Ti listing, the card is slated for a February 20 launch. Specifically, the MSI RTX 5070 Ti is set to be available on that date at 3:00 PM, which aligns with the typical embargo time for NVIDIA releases.

RTX 5070 GPUs might not have a February launch at all
Over at TopAchat, at least six RTX 5070 Ti cards are listed with the same February 20 release date, but there's no mention of the RTX 5070. Nvidia initially promised a February launch for the non-Ti model, but with the RTX 5070 Ti allegedly arriving on the 20th, that would leave just over a week for the RTX 5070 to follow. This raises the possibility that the RTX 5070 might not launch in February at all and could instead arrive later, potentially competing with another series that gamers have their eyes on.
Tech YouTuber and leaker Moore's Law Is Dead has reported that the RTX 5070 “will indeed launch in early March next to RDNA 4.” This suggests that Nvidia is positioning the card for a direct showdown with AMD's RX 9000 series rather than releasing it a month earlier, as initially expected. It's unclear how well this strategy will work for Nvidia, especially since AMD has some clear advantages. Notably, while the RTX 5070 is limited to 12GB of VRAM, both the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT are expected to feature 16GB of VRAM.
Stock issues are expected once again
A possible delay isn't the only disappointing news, as Moore's Law Is Dead has also provided details regarding the stock supply for the RTX 5070 Ti. According to the report, the RTX 5070 Ti will be “VERY limited” in availability. While the situation won't be as bad as what we saw with the RTX 5090 launch, it's still expected to be “not remotely enough” to meet demand. As for the RTX 5070, no stock information has been provided yet. However, we previously saw PC Builder on X mention that the RTX 5070 stock will be the best of the lot.
That said, Nvidia is already preparing for the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti launch, even though the RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs are still struggling with scalpers and board partners taking advantage of the limited supply. If the upcoming GPUs face a similar fate, AMD could have the perfect opportunity to capitalize. And with rumors suggesting that AMD's RX 9000 series will be aggressively priced against the “existing product line,” it looks like that scenario could become a reality.
