Computex is one of the biggest technology events of the year, and many companies like to use it as a platform to launch new products and services. AMD seems to be no different, as one of its board partners teases the official announcement of the Radeon RX 9060 XT.

So far, the RTX 5060 has not proven too popular amongst consumers, and it has been a quiet launch as a result of limited day-one reviews. AMD has found itself in a good position to score some points against Team Green, which appears to be part of the plan, judging by the teaser posted by AMD board partner Sapphire.

Possible RX 9060 XT teaser from Sapphire?

The official Sapphire Technology Japan account posted an image on Twitter/X of previous Radeon graphics cards pinned against a wall. This appeared to be some sort of display showcasing currently available RX 9070 series cards from Sapphire. The right side of the display contained only silhouettes of graphics card shapes, with the dates and time of “21st May, 12:01 PM” written on them.

Sapphire accompanied this image with the message: “Something with ‘tomorrow 21st, 12:01 (13:01 in Japan?)‘ written on it. What could it be?” Though Sapphire is being playful with its message, it seems likely that this indicates the official launch of the RX 9060 will take place at the indicated date and time. Especially since AMD’s Computex keynote is soon taking place.

Previous leaks suggested that a late May or Early June release was planned, and this post seems to align with this timeline. The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is believed to use the Navi 44 GPU chip, with 2,048 stream processors and the option of 8GB or 16GB of VRAM, similar to the RTX 5060 Ti.

The RX 9060 XT is believed to be a direct rival to the RTX 5060 Ti, which gives it the potential to overshadow the somewhat subdued launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060.
