Ryzen 7 9800X3D is returning in bulk following a recent delay scare, so now could be time to secure one

Now just over a week since the launch of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, we’re starting to see stock levels for the high-in-demand chip recover across multiple retailers. Known as the new best CPU for gaming, the 9800X3D went out of stock within minutes of its release and has been pretty hard to find online ever since – unless you were willing to pay scalper’s prices.
However, we’ve been keeping an eye on it with our 9800X3D stock tracker and now a new report from large German retailer Mindfactory tells us that the CPU is starting to become more and more available as we rapidly approach the Black Friday sales period (not that we expect to see any big 9800X3D deals).

9800X3D is available to buy at MSRP on Amazon
First off, the processor is now more readily available on Amazon after a couple of disappearances – then reappearances with fluctuating price tags as a result of third-party sellers bumping up the price. At the time of writing, you can pick it up for its MSRP of $479 which is great to see. We can’t be certain how long this will hold, but it does look pretty stable right now.

Stock is replenishing at Mindfactory despite recent scare
We recently reported that you might not be able to get the 9800X3D before Christmas. This was according to large German retailer Mindfactory, which listed expected delivery for the end of December. That looks to still be the case on the CPU’s product listing, but a new development shows that the retailer is stocking back up and preparing for the second wave.
According to a post on X from TechEpiphany, the store is “apparently” shipping 9800X3Ds again, helping cover orders that were made this week. So, German customers may not have to wait until late December after all if they’re lucky.
As the new best gaming processor on the market, the 9800X3D has been in high demand and sales have been well ahead of rivals Intel. Considering the 9800X3D boasts 20% better gaming performance than the Core Ultra 285K, it seems to show that gaming sells when it comes to CPUs – not just GPUs.
