Ryzen 7 9800X3D is so in demand that one retailer says you might not even get one before Christmas
Table of Contents
AMD’s recent Ryzen 7 9800X3D launch was massive and the new best gaming CPU has been in high demand ever since it became available on November 7th. We saw it sell out almost immediately at some of the largest retailers on the web, so tracking one down hasn’t been so easy.
If you’re looking to buy one, you could be waiting for a while (depending on your region of course). In any case, one large German retailer now suggests you can’t expect to get your hands on it until late December. We suggest you keep on top of stock levels, you can see our 9800X3D stock tracker, but there hasn’t been much movement there at the time of writing.

9800X3D expected delivery listed as late December at Mindfactory
Finding the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D in stock has been tough for most of the world, and Germany is no different. Mindfactory, one of the country’s largest hardware retailers, now says the expected delivery for the 9800X3D is the “end of December 2024.” To us, that could suggest you might not get one before Christmas, just in case you were planning a gift for yourself or a loved one. As always though, this kind of thing is subject to change.

While this obviously doesn’t cover every region on the planet, it does show just how popular this new X3D chip is right now. As seen in the screenshot below, this processor is hotly contested, sitting at practically 2000 watchers.
We recently covered Mindfactory’s latest sales report, detailing that the 9800X3D was well on top and, unsurprisingly, AMD's CPU sales are miles better than Intel’s. Luckily, availability in regions such as the US and UK doesn’t seem to be affected as harshly. According to our stock tracker (updated on November 11th), availability is coming soon at the following retailers:
- Availability expected Nov 13 at B&H Photo Video (US)
- Availability expected Nov 15 at Novatech (UK)
- Due for 29th Nov at Scan (UK)
