Nvidia’s RTX 50 series launch has been far from ideal, and it doesn’t look like it’s getting much better any time soon. All four models released so far – the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 – quickly went out of stock as a result of shockingly poor availability worldwide. This led to Nvidia setting up its Priority Access program for the top two SKUs while the cards remain difficult to come by.

For those of you not able to take advantage of the invite-only US-only scheme, waiting for a flagship RTX 5090 may have just gotten even longer. Sources have told PC Guide that the 32GB card is going to remain “extremely limited” in Nordic regions, going on to say that high-end cards are the biggest hit by delays.

AMD launches latest Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D CPUs!

AMD's highly anticipated Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D chips have finally arrived! Below, we will be listing all the latest listings from the web's biggest retailers.

High-end RTX 5090 models could be delayed by months in some regions

According to a retail industry insider in Europe, “several board partners” have said that RTX 5090 stock will remain limited, leading to months of waiting before retailers will even be able to bid on them. A few high-end examples include the MSI Surpim and ASUS ROG Strix cards; the Astral LC 5090 retailed for more than $3,000 at launch for reference.

“Several board partners just told retailers in the Nordics that stock of the 5090 will remain extremely limited and to delist several of the high end 5090 models as it will take “months” before they will even be able to bid on them. So, no MSI Suprim, ASUS ROG Strix cards etc”

We can already see evidence of delisting on the Nordic retailer Komplett – this is evident on its Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish storefronts, where the high-end MSI GeForce RTX 5090 SUPRIM SOC card has been removed. This seems to back up claims that retailers will have to wait “months” before bidding on them, essentially locking them out for the time being.

There have been widespread issues facing the RTX 50 series. The most recently launched model, the RTX 5070, also remains incredibly difficult to find. Above that tier, reports of missing ROPs on the flagship models caused a drop in performance for a small percentage of cards, though Nvidia has confirmed this is fixed for the 5070 (non Ti) and below models, offering refunds for those that are affected.
