State of Play has become one of the main events for PlayStation fans to look forward to. These digital presentations give Sony a chance to share new announcements, gameplay footage, release updates, and other news about upcoming games. The company also uses the events to highlight titles from third-party studios.

Sony recently announced a new State of Play for September 2026, and this one is a little different. The company is planning a double broadcast, with the main State of Play followed immediately by a new State of Play Japan presentation.

State of Play September 2026 start time

According to Sony, both broadcasts will take place today, on September 3. The main State of Play will begin at 6:00 AM PT and will be available to watch live on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. Of course, the start time will differ depending on where you are, so we’ve put together some time zone conversions.

  • US Pacific (PDT): 6 AM
  • US Eastern (EDT): 9 AM
  • United Kingdom (BST): 2 PM
  • Central Europe (CEST): 3 PM
  • India (IST): 7:30 PM
  • Japan (JST): 10 PM
  • Sydney, Australia (AEDT): 12 AM (midnight), September 4
  • Auckland, New Zealand (NZDT): 2 AM, September 4

Our countdown clock below also counts down to the exact second the show starts. It will disappear once it expires, so you can already tune in to the show if you don’t see a timer.

What to expect from State of Play September 2026

Sony has only confirmed Final Fantasy VII Revelation for the main State of Play so far. The game will close the presentation with an extended look, but the rest of the lineup remains a mystery. Sony usually keeps most of its State of Play announcements secret until the show begins.

Plenty of games could make an appearance, including Marvel’s Wolverine, God of War: Laufey, a possible Ghost of Yotei DLC, Kingdom Hearts 4, Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Fans are also hoping to finally see more of Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

However, none of these games have been confirmed for the show. The main presentation also has no confirmed runtime yet, although recent State of Play events have generally lasted around 40 minutes, with some longer shows running close to an hour.

The second broadcast could be just as interesting, especially for fans of Japanese or Eastern games. Sony says State of Play Japan will feature deeper looks at upcoming games from studios in the region, along with gameplay, announcements, and other updates.
