Nintendo officially announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 during a special 40th anniversary Zelda Direct in September. The ground-up remake proved to be incredibly popular in the build-up to its launch, and the game went live today as a midnight release for most of the world. New games typically don’t enjoy any discounts for at least a few weeks or months after release, or even longer in Nintendo’s case, as the newly remade Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive) is a first-party title. While the remake is listed at its full price on the Nintendo eShop, you can currently score it at a 10% discount through Instant Gaming.
The platform is offering The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for €54.29 for those living in Europe, which is €5.70 cheaper than full price. In the UK, it’s now just £45.32 (also 10% off). It’s a pretty notable discount considering it’s literally the day of its launch. Instant Gaming was also offering US eShop game codes, but these are currently out of stock (at the time of writing).

After you’ve made the purchase, Instant Gaming will email you the game code. To redeem it, you need to open the Nintendo eShop from the Home Menu on your Switch 2, select ‘Enter Code’ from the left side, and enter the 16-character download code before selecting ‘Ok.’ Keep in mind that Nintendo’s digital games are region-locked, so the code will need to match the region you set up your Nintendo account in.
What to expect from Nintendo’s Ocarina of Time remake
As for what the game offers, the remake retains the gameplay and story of the original 1998 game, so you’ll be taking control of Link, who is on a journey to defeat the evil Gerudo king Ganondorf. However, the visuals have been updated to match a modern setting, and there are new gameplay additions as well, such as running, free jumping, faster swimming, motion-control aiming, full camera control, and more.
Everything said, we’re not sure how long the discount on Instant Gaming will last, so we recommend acting quickly if you want to avoid paying full price. Instant Gaming has had this offer available as a pre-order even before the game launched, and plenty of Zelda fans have been taking advantage.
