For those who love replaying their favorite games, mods are one of the best ways to keep the experience feeling fresh every time. One such title that has been gaining a lot of attention in the modding community is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which launched just a week ago. Despite the short time since its release, the title has already amassed over 200 mods that enhance the base gameplay. And for players who want a more cinematic experience, this mod is a must-try.

The ‘No HUD Except Button Prompts and Dialog Choices’ mod, created by Riordan, is available on NexusMods and aims to make Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 more immersive by reducing HUD elements. The mod removes everything from the HUD except for button prompts and dialog choices, making the gameplay feel more cinematic.

Be careful, your health status is also removed

While the mod makes your gameplay more immersive, it also removes your life and stamina bars, making it impossible to keep track of your vitals. On top of that, Bunny Rabbit icons, which are behavior indicators that show you how NPCs around you are reacting, are also removed. So while the mod does make the game feel more immersive, you do have to sacrifice a few key gameplay elements.

What do the commands do?

  • wh_ui_ShowStats = 0 (No Health Bar)
  • wh_ui_showCompass = 0 (No Compass)
  • wh_ui_ShowBuffs = 0 (No Buff/Debuffs)
  • wh_ui_showQAMFood = 0 (No Food Quick Slot)
  • wh_ui_showQAMWeapon = 0 (No Weapon Quick Slot)
  • wh_ui_ShowCursor = 0 (No Cursor/Directional Crosshair)
  • wh_ui_ShowTrespassing = 0 (No Bunny)
  • wh_ui_ShowCrime = 0 (Also No Bunny)
  • wh_ui_ShowWanted = 0 (No Shield Icon When Wanted)
  • wh_ui_ShowCommonEvent = 0 (No Perk Activation Notification In Top Right Corner And Reputation Notifications)
  • wh_ui_ShowFancyEvent = 0 (No “Level Up!” Notification In Top Right Corner)

That said, installing the mod is straightforward, and the creator has provided a step-by-step guide whether you’re a Steam user, an Epic user, or neither. If you run into any issues, you can ask for help in the comments, where you’ll also find community-made commands to enhance immersion further, along with users sharing their love for the mod or making specific requests. While you’re at it, consider checking out this optimization mod that makes Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 run even on a 4GB GPU.
