It feels like there’s always some kind of deal or discount happening on Steam store, and Valve has long hosted regular sales events throughout the year. You’re probably most familiar with the seasonal sales (the Spring Sale is still a couple of months away), but there are a whole lot more – 2026 has already included Detective Fest, celebrating mystery and crime solving titles.

There will be a total of 29 Steam sales happening throughout this year, including the four major seasonal events. Valve said a few months back that it will be experimenting with “more niche” sales in 2026, and it definitely looks that way. For comparison, 2025 featured a total of 25 events spread across the year, so 2026 is bigger and – hopefully – better.

SteamDB already has a list of this year’s sales events available on its site. Ignore all the placeholder art for now; 2026 is shaping to be yet another excellent year for discounts on Steam. Like we said, we’ve already seen the Detective Fest in mid-Janaury, which featured a ton of great offers, including a ton of great games for as cheap as $3 or less.

Valve confirmed all of these sales in a Steam blog post last week. Along with the 29 confirmed sales, the company also says it plans to “highlight games doing Black Friday discounts by direct traffic to the Special Offers hub” – so you may be able to count Black Friday as the 30th sales event to round things off. Black Friday 2025 also knocked 20% off the LCD Steam Deck, so maybe we can look forward to a similar offer later this year. Or if we’re lucky, a discount on the upcoming Steam Machine.
