Xbox Series X25 release date and price leak suggest a $100 premium for the limited-edition green console
Microsoft never announced an exact release date for the Xbox Series X25 when it was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in June. The company only disclosed that it will be available “in select markets in November”. However, months ahead of the launch, a new leak suggests an exact date: November 27, which happens to be the date of this year’s Black Friday.
Some lucky fans have already secured their Xbox Series X25 order, after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma gave them away as a gift during FanFest in June for those with a Fan Pass. Based on the new leak, the X25 will also launch with a hefty price tag, costing €100 more than the disc drive version of the 1TB Xbox Series X; the X25 will also come with a physical disc drive, for reference.

An official announcement is expected during Gamescom, where Xbox has two days of content lined up – 33 games in total have already been announced to feature at the event.
Recent price hikes for Xbox consoles have naturally brought the price of the Series X25 up – here’s how they look right now:
| Xbox console | United States | UK | Europe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series S 512GB | $499.99 | £429.99 | €499.99 |
| Xbox Series S 1TB | $599.99 | £519.99 | €599.99 |

The X25 console will be bundled with a matching translucent green controller, but this will also be available to buy separately. Based on an earlier leak from billbil-kun, the special-edition wireless controller will cost $79.99 USD / $99.99 CAD / £74.99 GBP / €79.99 EUR. This is actually a little cheaper than we first expected, based on the various limited-edition models in the Xbox store.
