iPhone users affected by the Siri AI delays can now file a claim for a payout, with a total of $250 million to be paid to settle a class action lawsuit triggered by the delayed launch of Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features, which were first announced at WWDC 2024. According to the lawsuit, the US tech giant marketed and promoted AI features that did not exist at the time.

It’s more than two years after the fact, with Siri AI finally here in full force with the new iPhone 18 Pro series, along with macOS 27 (released on September 14) for Apple’s series of laptop and desktop products. Regardless, iPhone users are expected to be eligible for $25 per device, depending on the number of claims submitted. If fewer claims are filed, this could rise to as much as $95.

Contrary to Defendant’s claims of advanced AI capabilities, the Products offered a significantly limited or entirely absent version of Apple Intelligence, misleading consumers about its actual utility and performance. Worse yet, Defendant promoted its Products based on these overstated AI capabilities, leading consumers to believe they were purchasing a device with features that did not exist or were materially misrepresented.

Preliminary approval for the settlement was granted on July 17, and yesterday (September 21) was the opening of the claim period. The deadline is set for December 21, 2026, so you must submit your claim between now and then. A final approval hearing, where the court will determine “if the settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate,” will be held on February 24, 2027.
