Google’s Pixel series is one of the most popular smartphone series available, offering devices with solid specifications, beautiful displays, and excellent camera capabilities. At the moment, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the Google Pixel 10 series. However, Google has remained mostly silent about it so far.

Even though Google has not yet officially announced the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series, several leaks and rumors have surfaced over the past few months, giving us an idea of what to expect. So, without further ado, let’s discuss the expected release date, price, and specifications of the next Pixel series.

Google Pixel 10 release date rumor

Earlier rumors suggested that Google would release its Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, on August 13. This information initially came from Android Headlines, which had reported that the company was planning to release the next series in the second week of August. However, Android Headlines recently issued a correction, stating that their sources contacted them after the initial report and claimed that the launch date has been moved to August 20.

Now, the Pixel 10 series is expected to be officially announced during the Made by Google Event on August 20th. Pre-orders for all devices in the series are also expected to begin on the same day. However, those who pre-order will receive their devices starting August 28th, when the phones will likely become available for purchase in stores.

Google Pixel 10 design and expected specs

As far as the design is concerned, the Google Pixel 10 series will look mostly the same as the Pixel 9. Google already introduced a new design with the Pixel 9, and they are reportedly not planning to make any major changes to the design for the 10 series. Images of a Pixel 10 Pro prototype were leaked recently, which show that there are only a few small differences between it and the Pixel 9 Pro, such as the glass over the camera bar being closer to the edge and the SIM card tray being moved to the top left edge.

Unfortunately, prototypes of the other phones in the series haven’t leaked yet. For those curious about colors, a report from GSM Arena states that the Pixel 10 will come in four colors: Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, and Midnight. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will be available in Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, Midnight, and Smoky Green. As for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, it will be offered in two colors: Sterling Gray and Smoky Green.

In any case, here are the leaked specifications based on various leaks and rumors.

As shown in the table above, the biggest upgrade in the Pixel 10 series will be the Tensor G5 chip. While it will still use Arm Cortex CPU cores, it’s expected to swap out the Mali GPU for an Imagination Technologies DXT unit. This DXT unit is known for its advanced graphics features and processing power, including the ability to perform ray tracing.

Aside from that, the Pixel 10 is expected to have a 1080p+ resolution screen. All other models in the series will feature sharper 1280p+ displays. Regarding size, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will both have a 6.3-inch display. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is expected to come with a larger 6.8-inch display.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, on the other hand, will offer similar display sizes to its predecessor, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This means its front cover display will be 6.3 inches, while its main, unfolded display will be 8.0 inches.

Google Pixel 10 expected price

Since Google hasn’t officially shared any information about the Pixel 10 series yet, it’s difficult to determine the exact price. However, we can look at the current Pixel 9 series for an estimate. The Pixel 9 costs $799, the 9 Pro is $999, and the 9 Pro XL is priced at $1,099. The 9 Pro Fold, on the other hand, is available for $1,799.

We expect Google to set similar price tags for the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series. It’s worth noting that the Pixel 9 was about $100 more expensive than the Pixel 8. However, we don’t expect the Pixel 10 to be another $100 more expensive than its predecessor, as that would make its price the same as the Pixel 9 Pro. In any case, we’ll know the exact pricing if Google makes its official announcement on August 20.
