With early rumors pointing to a few much-needed design adjustments and possible camera upgrades, Samsung clearly has its sights set on making its clamshell foldable even more mainstream.
While there’s still a good few months before anything official concerning the Z Flip 6 gets confirmed, leakers have been stirring the pot and creating a fair bit of excitement for what’s to come. Galaxy Z Flip 6 design leaks
Of course, the iconic clamshell shape isn’t going anywhere, but some recent design leaks have given us some clues as to what changes we might be expecting from the upcoming Z Flip. A set of leaked renders courtesy of SmartPrix and @OnLeaks show the Z Flip 6 looking almost like a carbon copy of its Z Flip 5 predecessor. This isn’t too surprising, as a big design change came to the Flip 5 in terms of its 3.4-inch cover screen.
As per these leaks, the Z Flip 6 could feature a 6.7-inch inner OLED screen that has the same centrally-aligned punch-hole camera as the Flip 5. On its flipped side, its hinge, 3.4-inch cover screen, and dual camera setup don’t seem to have changed much either. Well, as they say, if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it; and it seems Samsung has taken this conservative approach to the clamshell design that it’s spent years refining.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 release window prediction
It has to be said, it’s still a bit too far in advance to know a Galaxy Z Flip 6 release date for certain, but the release window of Samsung’s previous foldables gives us a possible time frame that we might see the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 launched. It’s usually the case that Samsung has its bi-annual Unpacked event at some point in late July or August, which has been the case for the past three generations of Z Flip phones.
Samsung is actually quite reliable when it comes to launch schedules, tending to make use of a similar formula for its flagship devices. However, we have a less clear idea of the Z Flip 6’s pricing, but we are still about six months ahead of launch so that’s pretty normal. Our current best guess is that the price tag for the base 256GB model won’t stray too far from the $1000 mark.

Similarly to the design and release date, the official specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 aren’t too clear yet. However, it’s definitely possible that the handset will make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which should give a good boost to the performance, efficiency, and battery life of the Z Flip 6. On the topic of battery life, a bigger battery than the current 3,700 mAh is hoped for too. In terms of camera performance, a boost from a 12MP to a 50MP main sensor could be the main upgrade coming to the Z Flip 6.
Will the Galaxy Z Flip 6 have AI?
Without anything official, we can’t solidly confirm that the Z Flip 6 will have AI, but the answer is probably. Galaxy AI was a huge buzzword at the previous Galaxy Unpacked event in January, and it’s likely that Samsung will want to bring its impressive range of AI functionalities over to its flagship foldables too.
