A new year means a new set of LG OLED TVs to look forward to. As expected, the new LG C6 OLED TV was announced at CES 2026 and ushers in the latest display technology for everyday consumers. LG’s C-series occupies the mid-range, below the premium G6 OLED and above the B6 OLED. As such, we expect the C6 to be one of the most popular OLED TVs of the year.

We reviewed the LG C5 OLED TV last year, so we’re keen to see what the C6 can deliver. Generally speaking, each generation provides a relatively small step up, but for those still rocking older models, it’s always worth considering the latest and greatest from LG. CES 2026 provided much of what we need to know about the specs & features, and now that C6 OLED pre orders are live, we also know when the new TVs will be released.

LG C6 OLED TV release date

LG didn’t provide a concrete release date, but it was easy enough to estimate given the fact that LG OLED TV series tends to follow a predictable release pattern, year in and year out. The new OLEDs are generally released in late March or early April, and that’s what’s happening again this year. LG C6 OLED TVs will start shipping as early as March 23, a week ahead of the OLED G6. A couple of sizes, namely the 42-inch and 83-inch, will have to wait until May 4 in the US.

Pre-orders are available directly from the LG website and other retailers, including Amazon and B&H. Even ahead of pre-orders going live, we started to see the official store running a discount on the now last-gen C5, so if you’re looking to upgrade and want to save some cash instead of grabbing the C6, now’s a good time to do so.

LG C6 OLED TV specs confirmed at CES 2025

Like every year, LG was a big presence at this year’s CES, which took place in early January. The launch of the C6 comes with some important things to consider, primarily the fact that there are three variants this time around. LG announced the C6, C6H, and CS6; the important thing to remember is that the C6H covers the two largest sizes (77-inch and 83-inch), and comes fitted with LG’s Primary RGB Tandem panel, while the two other variants in smaller sizes do not get the 4-layer brightness-boosting tech.

A new feature in the 2026 line-up is the addition of Hyper Radiant Color Tech, which LG says offers “incomparable brightness, perfect black, and perfect color in any light”. This is available with the RGB Tandem OLED panel and is another element of the display aimed at improving overall brightness for easier viewing in well-lit environments.

LG C6 OLED TV price revealed

Pricing details are now revealed, thanks to the fact that pre-orders are live. Here’s how the C6 series is priced (USD) at launch. It’s largely the same as the C5 above, with the exception of the 83″ model, which is actually $100 cheaper this time around.

Does the LG C6 OLED TV come with Primary RGB Tandem OLED?

Yes, and no. LG has split the C-series, meaning only the 77-inch and 83-inch models come with an RGB Tandem OLED panel, labeled as the LG C6H, while the smaller models stick to a WOLED panel akin to the C5. There’s also no inclusion of MLA (Micro Lens Array), as LG has moved away from the technology to focus on the more efficient Tandem panel.

RGB Tandem OLED works by stacking multiple layers (four in this case) to drastically improve brightness, efficiency, longevity, and color volume. LG suggests it could be up to three times brighter than the budget-friendly B series, and close to the brightness levels on last year’s G5, which peaked at 2,519.7 cd/m² (10% window) back when we tested it for review.

Is it worth upgrading from LG C5 to LG C6 OLED?

Generally speaking, jumping up just one generation of LG OLED TV isn’t worth your time. However, if you really want to benefit from the brighter Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel in the LG C6H (77″ or 83″), then it’s worth considering, especially if you can net a decent trade-in deal.

Otherwise, we’d suggest that it isn’t really worth the upgrade if you’re targeting a smaller display with the traditional WOLED panel. On the other hand, another reason to upgrade is the new Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor, a considerable jump from the Alpha 9 in last year’s C5 OLED, promising a 50% faster CPU, 70% faster GPU, and an NPU that enables up to 5x better AI performance.
