The Microsoft Inspire event saw some big announcements from the tech giant, with a focus on its next-generation AI suite of productivity tools. Microsoft 365 Copilot was first publicized by the company back in March of 2023, and it now looks like it is available for commercial customers. But how much is it going to cost? This article will explain the pricing of Microsoft 365 Copilot, as well as some key features expected to come to the generative AI.
Microsoft 365 Copilot – key info
Copilot is a generative AI software that will work across Microsoft 365 programs. By combining powerful large language models with data from Microsoft Graph and 365 apps, the company is claiming to introduce “a whole new way of working”, in evolving how we interact with AI and computing.
Using generative AI, Copilot will automate processes across 365, as well as offering creative solutions to workers. This includes anything from writing a first draft in Word, creating presentations in PowerPoint, to summarizing email threads in Outlook. There is clearly some belief in the success of the model, with Microsoft shares rising 5.8% following the announcement of Copilot.

How much does it cost? Microsoft Copilot pricing
According to Microsoft, Copilot will become the “most powerful productivity tool on the planet”, and as expected, it’s going to come at quite a price. At the Inspire event, the pricing of Copilot was finally elaborated on.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is available for commercial customers for $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium customers. Adding on the subscription could end up increasing enterprises’ monthly prices by as much as 83%. Additionally, Copilot is still only available for commercial customers, and we are still unsure of a release date for an official public rollout of the AI assistant.
Final thoughts
At $30 per user per month, the Microsoft 365 Copilot pricing is high, but the software promises great things for both individual workflow and overall business productivity. We’re not sure when the AI model will be available for the wider public, but for now, we can simply marvel at Copilot’s abilities and wait for it to be released. In addition to Copilot, Microsoft Inspire also saw updates for Bing Chat, as well as the announcement of Bing Chat Enterprise.
