Blackmagic Design is many people’s go-to for video editing, particularly when it comes to the free version of DaVinci Resolve. But if you’re looking to go pro with your editing, or want more features, then hunting down DaVinci Resolve Black Friday deals is a great shout this month.
Now it’s worth noting that finding discounts on Blackmagic Design products can be rare, and that extends from its software to its hardware offerings. That said, we do see some deals floating around that would be of interest to anyone who wants to use or is currently using DaVinci resolve. Recently, I spotted DaVinci Resolve Studio 19 for $207 at wexphotovideo.com, but asides from that it’s fairly slim pickings.
In the plus side, Amazon has its Black Friday Week running from now to December 2nd, and there are some interesting deals for DaVinci Resolve users at the moment. A standout is the TourBox NEO for 20% off. There may be some slight fluctuations in pricing through this sales period, but we’d say that in general, the deals that you’re seeing now are the deals you’ll get on November 29th too, so it’s worth jumping on them.

Keep your eyes on the Blackmagic Design site, or keep checking here where we’ll do that for you. It really is about as simple as that. We’re going to be highlighting the best deals we can find from Blackmagic or elsewhere.
You should always price watch, which will help you when the sales do come around. Knowing the regular pricing of DaVinci Resolve Studio and related products will help as a reference point.
What to consider when looking for Black Friday DaVinci Resolve deals
The best thing to do is take a look at your setup. Are you just starting out, and you want some affordable kit and a free copy of DaVinci Resolve? Or are you holding out for a bundle deal with a free version of Studio?
If you’re tight on budget but looking for hardware, what will level up your setup most? Audio is often the key element in video editing, for example, so will a new microphone or editor keyboard allow you to get your sound quality sorted?
Should you be a pro and be looking to add to a working editing suite, you may well know exactly what you’re after. But, it’s always worth shopping around before you commit to any purchase…just in case.
Does DaVinci Resolve have Black Friday sales?
Yes. Blackmagic Design, the creator of DaVinci Resolve does have Black Friday sales. These usually begin a few days before Black Friday itself, so it’s best to be prepared in the run-up to the discount event.
Retailers selling DaVinci Resolve compatible kit will also be having Black Friday sales. So you could get yourself a full suite set up come November, should you have the budget. We’d recommend checking out the Speed Editor, which we reviewed here.
When did DaVinci Resolve become free?
In June 2011. This was for DaVinci Resolve version 8, where the ‘Lite’ version became free, while Blackmagic Design continued to charge for other packages.
Today, DaVinci Resolve remains free, while DaVinci Resolve Studio is $295 for a licence, which includes additional effects, features and more.
