For an SSD market shrouded by higher prices, discounts are at least producing brighter spots to consider. One of the latest of those brighter spots is Kingston’s NV3 1TB. It’s a possible pick for users needing a boot, cache, or extra drive, and an Amazon deal has flagged it at an improved price. Currently $157, well above its low last year, it is at least the lowest it’s been since April. That’s some better news if you need a 1TB Drive right now.

Why you should consider the Kingston NV3 1TB SSD

Better value

The NV3 range was previously a ‘budget’ option in the NVMe market. Of course, 2026 makes a mockery of the term ‘budget’, but this drive is better priced than most of its competition. Of course, the drive gives up a little performance for that position, but it does come in more affordable than the likes of the SanDisk Optimus 5100, Crucial P3, and WD Blue.

Speedy for most

The performance the NV3 gives up for its lower cost is hard to notice in most cases. It’s rated for read/write speeds up to 6,000MB/s and 5,000MB/s respectively. That’s still plenty fast enough for a modern boot drive or extended storage, especially if you’re building a new entry- or mid-level system or upgrading from an older PC.

Efficient and cool

Reviewers and owners both comment on the NV3’s power efficiency, which means less draw and cooler overall temperatures. That negates any likely need for a heatsink for the NV3, while boosting its laptop and ultrabook credentials, as it can work efficiently with less airflow.

What to consider before you buy

With SSD prices as they are, it’s hard to know when to buy. So we do advise comparing prices and checking out other 1TB SSDs in the list below. While this discount isn’t a deal by last year’s standards, the NV3 is now at its lowest since April. That may be timely if you’re building a system, looking for storage, or upgrading a laptop. The Kingston NV3 is dependable, efficient, and runs fairly cool. It may not be one of the best NVMe SSDs performance-wise, but it’s more affordable than most.
