Table of Contents
The LG UltraGear 27GX704A-B is a premium OLED monitor that successfully blends elite gaming monitor responsiveness with exceptional image quality. Its glossy OLED panel, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, great contrast ratio and HDR performance, plus native FreeSync Premium Pro (plus GSync support) make it a strong option for both competitive and cinematic gaming. For users wanting a high-end 27-inch OLED gaming display, it delivers a very compelling overall package. Although the Amazon listing for this deal being 40% off is a bit excessive if you look at the actual price history of this display, it’s still a great deal for just $ $477.99 – being only $12 higher than the lowest ever price the display reached in the Black Friday sales.
Gaming performance should feel extremely smooth and responsive thanks to the OLED response times and 240Hz refresh rate. The QHD resolution also strikes a very good balance between image sharpness and achievable frame rates, making it easier for GPUs to consistently reach high refresh targets. HDR gaming should look especially impressive thanks to the OLED panel’s deep blacks and strong color reproduction. The OLED care features also help mitigate long-term image retention risks.
What we like about this LG UltraGear 27GX704A-B OLED gaming monitor
Glossy OLED panel delivers exceptional image quality
LG’s glossy OLED implementation gives the monitor a particularly vibrant and high-contrast appearance. OLED’s per-pixel lighting already enables effectively infinite contrast and true blacks, but the glossy finish further enhances perceived sharpness and color intensity in controlled lighting environments. The result is an image that feels especially immersive in HDR games, films, and visually rich single-player titles.
