RTX 5070 graphics card
If you’re after excellent QHD performance, and the option for 4K with a few tweaks and the use of MFG, then the RTX 5070 is one of the best graphics cards you can go for. As you’re no doubt aware, it has 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, putting it slap in the middle of the RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 Ti, and making it a quality mid-range option for most people. It can handle higher resolutions and textures than the RTX 5060 Ti, but doesn’t perform as well at 4K as the 5070 Ti and its 16GB of VRAM. 1440p is the sweet spot here, where it truly excels. Of course, as part of Nvidia’s 50-series lineup, you’ve got 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which notably powers MFG upscaling, which is going to help when using this card for 4K. On the creative front, you’ve got 9th-gen Nvidia encoders, for faster exports, better video quality, and more, and there’s also Nvidia Broadcast, which is great for content creators and streamers. Intel Core i7 14700F processor
This is actually one of our favorite processors from the 14th-gen lineup, as it has a very balanced offering, with excellent multitasking and creative workflow capabilities, alongside powerful gaming performance. It’s a good pairing with the RTX 5070, and since it’s relatively old with the newer Core Ultra Series being out for some time now, it’s typically a more cost-effective option. With this processor, you’ve got 20 cores (8P + 12E) and 28 threads, which is going to give you excellent performance with streaming, rendering, multitasking, running background applications, and more. It has a boost clock speed of 5.4Ghz and 33MB smart cache, too, which are ideal for high refresh rate 1440p and 4K gaming, with low frame latency, again, making it well suited to the RTX 5070’s target resolution. RAM and storage
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 here, which is going to be ideal if you’re playing more demanding games, like open-worlds or simulators, or want a much more responsive feel when multitasking or using demanding creative applications, like Blender and Adobe Premiere Pro. There’s also a large 2TB SSD, which is great to see, as it’ll give you enough room for a good number of games, without leaving you with no space for other files.
Things to consider
This is a great PC, but if it’s not too far off, some of the lower-end RX 9070 XT prebuilds in terms of pricing, which you may want to consider. Why? Well, they’re actually comparable with the RTX 5070 Ti in terms of raw gaming performance, targeting 1440p and 4K. They have 16GB of older, GDDR6 VRAM, and the RTX 5070 Ti pulls away when it comes to AI and ray tracing capabilities, but for under $1,900, generally speaking, an RX 9070 XT gaming PC is certainly money well spent. Even better, many of them feature Ryzen X3D processors, like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Check out some of Stormcraft’s options, and our other top gaming PC deals below.
