If you’re looking for an RTX 50-series gaming laptop for well under $1,000, then this is the deal for you. Right now, this Acer Nitro V15 laptop is down $140 at Newegg, and has been reduced from $1,049.99 to $909.99. That’s a great price for something with an RTX 5050 graphics card, a powerful and high-core-count Intel Core i7-13620H processor, and a high refresh rate FHD display. If you’re looking for something affordable for FHD gaming at high fps, and something with decent multi-tasking and workstation capabilities, and aren’t too fussed about having DDR4 RAM or a smaller SSD, then this is a great laptop to consider at its current price.
Key features of this Acer Nitro V15 gaming laptop
RTX 5050 mobile graphics card
This laptop features Nvidia’s entry-level mobile graphics card, the RTX 5050, which is a significant upgrade over the previous-gen RTX 4050. It features 8GB of newer, faster GDDR7 VRAM, which is more than the 4050, and has a wider 128-bit bus to the 4050’s more modest 96-bit offering. One of the key selling points for this mobile GPU is that it’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which has 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which help power DLSS 4.5 and MFG, which dramatically enhances perceived fps in-game, and helps create a much more playable experience in many titles.
Intel Core i7-13620H processor
This processor was released back in 2023, but it’s still a punchy CPU for FHD gaming at high fps and handling modern AAA titles, with a boost clock speed of 4.9GHz and 24MB smart cache. It features 10 cores (6P + 4E) and 16 threads, which makes it adept at handling content creation workloads, like video editing and 3D rendering, alongside having strong multitasking capabilities for streaming, recording gameplay, and more.

Display
This laptop features a pretty high refresh rate, 165Hz IPS FHD display, which is ideal for fast-paced gaming and esports. Coming in at 15.6 inches, it’s also a great size that doesn’t dilute its pixel density, meaning that you still get crisp picture quality for reading text, design, and seeing in-game details clearly, without the added expense of a WQXGA display.
Storage and RAM
You’ve got 16GB of DDR4 RAM in this build, which is going to be more than enough to keep everything running smoothly in-game and will also help with heavier workloads often encountered in creative applications. It also features a modest, but still decent-sized 512GB SSD, which can hold a handful of games alongside your files easily.
Things to consider
For the price, this is great, so the only consideration is if you want to opt for a slightly more expensive RTX 5060 model instead. With your typical RTX 5060 laptop, you’ll be getting better performance at 1080p and 1440p, and it will be more punchy for content creation, too. Generally speaking, these come in around $1,100 to $1,300, depending on the processor, RAM, and various bells and whistles, like RGB lightbars, and more premium materials and finishing.
