Key features of the Gigabyte RTX 4060
- 8GB GDDR6 VRAM: The RTX 4060 comes with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This much memory should be enough for most games at 1080p, or even for some 1440p settings. However, in some demanding games, you can struggle a bit while setting everything to Ultra.
- DLSS 3: The GPU also comes with support for DLSS 3. This technology helps improve the game performance and makes graphics smoother without losing visual quality. In other words, you can expect to get more FPS with it.
- 3rd Generation RT Cores: The RTX 4060 comes equipped with 3rd generation RT cores. These offer double the performance and make lighting and reflections appear more detailed and realistic in games.
- Three-fan design: The Gigabyte variant offers a three-fan design. These work collectively to keep the GPU cool, thanks to which you won’t have to worry about the graphics card overheating during extended gaming sessions.
Should you get the RTX 4060?
The RTX 4060 is a great budget GPU that can deliver great performance at 1080p. It can run most modern games smoothly at the mentioned resolution without any kind of lag. We reviewed the RTX 4060 and tested it in several games to get an idea about its real-life performance. In Cyberpunk 2077, it was able to deliver more than 75 FPS at 1080p, which dropped to 48 when we switched the resolution to 1440p. On the other hand, in Far Cry 6, we were getting 124 FPS at 1080 and 84 FPS at 1440p. So, depending on the game, you may be able to push some games at 1440p with this card.
