Outstanding value Gigabyte QD-OLED 240Hz gaming monitor now just under $300 with Newegg deal
Table of Contents
I’ve been quacking on about OLED monitors gradually coming down in price for a while now, and I feel like this deal really illustrates my point. This Gigabyte 27-inch QHD QD-OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate is down to just $299.99 at Newegg, which is seriously good value. Typically, I tend to see 240Hz QD-OLEDs come in at around $350 at their lowest, so this is notably more affordable. It’s at its lowest price in 30 days, too, so all the more reason to jump on it sooner rather than later.
This monitor has an impressive 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, 99% DCI-P3 color, and Delta E<2 accuracy. That’s a strong combination for making games look more cinematic and lifelike, and it’s also pretty good for video editing and other creative work, too. The screen is actually semi-glossy, which enhances perceived color and contrast further. On the performance front, as mentioned, it’s 240Hz, which means up to 240fps in QHD. Great for competitive and fast-paced gaming, especially when combined with FreeSync Premium support.
This monitor, as with many displays from top brands like Gigabyte, MSI, and so on, packs a pretty robust burn-in protection suite, too. As expected, it’s a mixture of highly advanced custom heatsinks for physical heat dissipation and AI-powered technology and algorithms. In short, it’s designed to protect itself from burn-in automatically and is engineered for maximum cooling.

Is this monitor right for you?
This is about as budget-friendly as I’ve seen for a QD-OLED 240Hz QHD gaming monitor, so if you’ve got a hard limit of $300, this is a big win. I’d personally pair this with an RTX 5070 gaming PC, or similar. It’s worth noting that this monitor’s brightness isn’t that high, so while it’s great for low-light environments, it’s not ideal for bright rooms.
What doesn’t this monitor have?
There are a few ‘premium’ features this monitor is lacking, as expected for the price. USB-C, built-in speakers, and FreeSync Premium Pro are the main ones. In all honesty, they’re nice to have, but not exactly essential. At over $400, you tend to start seeing these features pop up, just for reference.
- Simply outstanding value for money
- Very robust burn-in protection and impressive heatsinks
- Makes a lot of sense for mid-range QHD gaming PCs
- High enough refresh rate for comptitive gaming
- Lacking a few premium touches, as expected
- Not the brightest OLED out there
- HDR 10 is pretty basic
- 280Hz versions offer a bit more headroom if you’re upgrading your PC in the near future
